On 26 May 2026, Years 9 and 11 attended an event with Holocaust survivor Eva Weyl at the residence of the German ambassador. She gave a powerful account of her life during the Nazi era.
As part of the event, Eva Weyl was also awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class. The award recognises her many years of commitment to remembrance culture and her tireless efforts to ensure that the past is not forgotten.
The students not only gained valuable insights into this important period of German history, but were also addressed as “secondary witnesses”, a term coined by Eva Weyl herself. In doing so, she entrusts the young people with the task of carrying forward her messages and keeping alive the memory of the crimes committed under the Nazi Regime.
A special and impressive morning dedicated to remembrance and responsibility.
