The deliberate design of our school community creates a supportive and familiar environment. With a manageable institution size and all educational stages under one roof, we can individually address the needs of each child and ensure personal care. This structure not only promotes the bond between teacher and student but also among the students themselves. This strengthens social and emotional competencies that accompany them on their life journey.
DISDH is the only school in the Netherlands that is fully aligned with the German curriculum. This allows for a seamless and stress-free transition to schools in the Netherlands, as well as a smooth continuation of education at schools in Germany or any of the numerous German international schools worldwide. All qualifications earned are recognized in Germany and globally.
Due to the comprehensive curriculum in the secondary stage, DISDH graduates are the only school leavers in the Netherlands equipped with a broad, mandatory curriculum providing the foundation for various global academic pursuits. Our graduates can pursue diverse fields of study and disciplines worldwide, setting the stage for a wide array of future academic or professional paths. Furthermore, they are well-positioned for potential changes in their academic focus or professional career later on.
We are awarded with the “Excellent German International School” quality seal, thereby meeting a global standard of quality. Our highly qualified teachers originate from German-speaking regions.
We provide the right path for everyone: the Mittlerer Schulabschluss, the Fachhochschulreife (in cooperation with the German School Brussels), and the German International Abitur (DIA). Both the Fachhochschulreife and the DIA are internationally recognized certifications, granting our students worldwide access to technical colleges and universities.
For over 150 years, we have been providing our students with a high-quality education that continuously evolves to meet the changing needs of our students. In recent years, our students have achieved a 100% graduation rate in all educational programs. The average Abitur score has consistently been 2.0, surpassing the national average, all while meeting higher academic standards and providing a broader education.
From kindergarten to secondary school, children and adolescents experience seamless transitions at each step into a higher educational level. Through the combination of manageable group sizes in kindergarten and class sizes in school operations, along with professional learning concepts, we create a familiar and personal school and learning environment.
With more than 30 different nationalities in our school community, our students experience a daily multicultural exchange that fosters tolerant and respectful behavior. Our language offerings encompass four languages, enabling our students to navigate well in international settings.
Our specially trained teachers provide support for specific learning difficulties. Moreover, individual support and self-directed learning are integral components of our educational concept.
Our school boasts an exceptionally advantageous location in the international district of The Hague, close to the beach. Continuous modernization efforts are underway through investments in our kindergarten and school buildings. The acquisition of the adjacent property strategically positions us for future growth. Additionally, we have successfully created a spacious outdoor area for our children in a densely populated area.
Mutual respect, social commitment, and civic courage, both within and beyond the school community, are inherent values for us. School social work is an integral component of our school.
Our vibrant school life includes special highlights with regular school events. Various multilingual parent offerings also foster community and are integral to the German community in the Netherlands.
