DISDH REGISTRATION

Taster Day

Your child has the opportunity to get to know our school during a taster day. Depending on your wishes, your child can attend one or more hours of regular classes. We recommend taking advantage of this offer as taster sessions make it easier for your child to settle in at DISDH. When children can meet their future classmates and teachers and already know what the new classroom looks like, they get an idea of what our school is like. This way, the first real day of school at DISDH is no longer quite so exciting.

New at the School

The first time at a new school is especially exciting for your child. We do everything we can to make the transition to our school as easy and pleasant as possible for your child. We want your child to quickly feel at home in the new environment, and can identify with the new school. In order to make the transition easier, your child will be assigned two fellow pupils at DISDH who will act as contact persons and orientation aids during the first few weeks. In this way, your child will quickly find its way around and make new friends. At DISDH we have a lot of experience with welcoming and integrating new children into the school community.

Each of our students is familiar with the situation with a new start at a school. Our teachers take special care of our newcomers and make sure that they feel comfortable and enjoy their new school.

After 2-3 weeks, a meeting takes place with the class leader and you as parents to share the first experiences and to talk about how your child is settling in at DISDH. We will discuss your child’s learning progress, social development and inform you about our individual support services.

We want to welcome our new parents to our school as well and make it easier for them to get started. That is why we have an expat manager at our side as a service, who can help you with all questions concerning the move, registration in the Netherlands, etc.
