The DISDH Kindergarten:

Our children aged 2 to 5 years learn to discover the world through play and using all their senses in a safe and secure atmosphere. The developmental steps are professionally accompanied and supported.

SAFE AND TRUSTING BOND:

A highly qualified staffing ratio enables us to respond to the individual needs of each child and to work with the reference teacher in small groups.

CONCEPT:

Our pedagogical program is based on a situation-oriented model, which means that we develop and implement projects with the children based on current topics.

BILINGUAL TEACHING:

With the multicultural background of The Hague, we include different cultures and languages in our everyday life and promote tolerant and respectful behavior. With our Dutch teachers, the children experience multilingualism in their daily interaction. Our first language is German.

INVITING AND CHILD-FRIENDLY ROOM DESIGN:

Whether running or doing gymnastics: our light-flooded rooms have the right movement program for every stage of a child’s development. Especially our multi-functional “The Nautilus” room stimulates the urge to move and gives imagination to play again and again. At the same time, cozy forts and cushions in the rooms invite children to rest and hide.

OUTDOOR AREA:

Our kindergarten has two outdoor areas with a sand area and climbing facilities. In addition, a paved area offers many opportunities for plenty of running around. A large “vehicle area” with bobby cars, tricycles and running wheels provides a lot of enthusiasm.

PEDAGOGICAL CONCEPT

We work according to the situation-oriented model and focus on movement and creativity.

Movement

The autonomy of the children, mutual respect and solidarity as well as respect for competences and needs are particularly important to us in the planning and structuring of our work. This also reflects our Hengstenberg physical concept. Please click here.

CREATIVITY

The creative development of the children is an important part of our program. Music and art are constant elements in our everyday life and offer the children a suitable opportunity to visualise their experiences and express their feelings.

DAILY STRUCTURE

THE FIRST DAYS AT THE KINDERGARTEN

The acclimatization time to our kindergarten is possible all year round.

Our pedagogical team lovingly cares for children from the age of 2 in two groups until the children transition to our pre-school.

Current care times:

Our doors will now be open even longer to provide your little explorers with comprehensive care and education to support their holistic growth and development.

Now we will be offering reliable and predictable childcare until 3.30 p.m., because we know how important a contemporary childcare is in today’s world. Best of all, all children will also receive an organic, warm lunch to give them energy for the day. Small snacks and drinks will be provided too.

Monday to Friday from 7.45 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

ADDITIONAL CARE:

But that’s not all! You have the chance to book extra care in the afternoons.

Monday – Friday from 3.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.

ROOMS

The modern group rooms are generously proportioned, filled with light and lovingly furnished to meet the needs of the children. This means that there are no limits to the variety of movement, play and learning activities.

Reading and quiet room: Here the children can relax and read a book.
Role play room: Here the children can dress up and explore role play.
Building room: Here everything centers around building and constructing.
Painting and craft room: Creativity is well lived out here. We work with a lot of recycled material in order to experience different materials.

Two outdoor areas provide safety for the children and yet enough space to explore and move around.

The sand and climbing area offer plenty of space for independent play. In addition, a paved area offers many opportunities for running around. A large “vehicle area” with bobby cars, tricycles and running wheels provides a lot of enthusiasm.

LANGUAGES

Very naturally, the children come into contact with the language of the host country through our Dutch educators. If the child’s mother language is not German, we offer special support.

HOLIDAY PROGRAMME

During the Spring break, May, summer and autumn holidays, we offer a holiday programme for our kindergarten children. You can register your child for this when he or she attends our kindergarten. Our holiday programme is dedicated to a different theme each time, on which we undertake many exciting and varied activities. These include sports, cooking, artistic activities, games and fun. On trips and excursions, for example, to the museum, the beach or the forest, we discover our surroundings.

The DISDH Pre-School:

“A Place to Learn and Play”

Children are little explorers. From the age of 5, children in the Netherlands are required to attend school and join the pre-school group at DISDH. The close collaboration between kindergarten, pre-school, and primary school allows children a very smooth transition to the next stage. Here, we nurture our pre-schoolers natural curiosity and readiness to learn, strengthening their abilities and competencies.

SECURE AND TRUSTING BONDS:

In the pre-school, we place great value on an outstanding staff-to-child ratio to ensure that the individual needs of each child can be optimally met. Our team consists of dedicated and qualified professionals who lovingly care for the development and well-being of the children. The group has designated educators who build trusting relationships with the children and accompany them in their personal development. This continuity creates a stable environment where children feel secure and can unfold their full potential.

PREPARING FOR SCHOOL:

We follow a holistic learning process. Preparation for school challenges not only requires methodical skills but also the strengthening of individual competencies. Self-confidence, self-help skills, communication abilities, and conflict resolution strategies play a crucial role, as does the promotion of independent work.

TRUSTED COLLABORATION:

Close collaboration with parents is also a priority for us. We view families as important partners in education and place great emphasis on maintaining open and regular communication.

8.30 – 8.45 am: Morning circle

8.45 am: Breakfast

9.00 am: Free play/ educational programme

11.20 am: Lunch preparation

11.30 – 12.20: Lunch

12.20 – 13.00: Recreation phase

13.15 – 14.45: Free play/ educational programme

14.45: Closing circle

On Wednesday, the pre-school day ends at 1.10 pm. Of course, we still offer childcare concepts until 6.00 pm.

Holday Programme

There’s no room for boredom even during the holidays. During the spring, May, summer, and autumn holidays, we offer a varied holiday programme for our students.
