GERMAN CURRICULUM – INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES

DISDH is the only school in the Netherlands that follows the German curriculum in its entirety. This makes the transition to school in the Netherlands as smooth as possible, while also facilitating a subsequent return to a school in Germany or a move to another German School Abroad. All our school-leaving qualifications are recognised in Germany and internationally. Thanks to the broad and comprehensive curriculum at secondary level, our Abitur graduates gain an excellent academic foundation for a wide range of university courses around the world. This breadth of education also allows them to change their course of study or career path later in life.

INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY AND MULTILINGUALISM

More than 20 nationalities enrich everyday life at our school. Our pupils experience intercultural exchange on a daily basis and have the opportunity to learn up to four languages: German, English, Dutch and French. This prepares them exceptionally well for an international future.

TAILORED SUPPORT FOR EVERY CHILD

Our specially trained teachers provide targeted learning support for pupils with specific learning difficulties. Individual support and independent learning are integral parts of our educational approach.

THE RIGHT QUALIFICATION FOR EVERY EDUCATIONAL PATHWAY

We offer a range of recognised school-leaving qualifications: the German Intermediate School Leaving Certificate (Mittlerer Schulabschluss), the Advanced Technical College Entrance Qualification (Fachhochschulreife), in cooperation with the German School of Brussels, and the German International Abitur (DIA).

The Fachhochschulreife and the DIA open up a wide range of higher education opportunities in Germany and internationally, depending on the institution and its admission requirements.

In recent years, our pupils have achieved a 100% pass rate across all school-leaving qualifications. In recent years, our graduates have also consistently achieved better average Abitur grades than the German national average – while completing a broader and academically demanding curriculum.

From Kindergarten through to secondary school, we ensure smooth transitions between the different stages of education. Our school is located in the international district of The Hague, close to the beach. We continually invest in modernising our Kindergarten and school buildings.
